With riots, civil unrest & wars raging in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Egypt . . . and the ever turbulent relationship between the Palestinians & the Jews, earthquakes & volcanic activities with the recent unprecedented disaster of Japan . . . you begin to wonder whether the world is indeed coming to an end. Globally, history has yet to record a more turbulent period than the present.

Just when things are going to be right for Japan suffering & recovering from its decade of economic downturn, the country was shocked to disbelief by a phenomenal earthquake – the worst in its 140 years of recorded geological-seismic history with a reading of 9 on the Richter Scale or 7 out 7 according to its Japanese scale. The atomic bombs in Hiroshima & Nagasaki paled in absolute significance when compared with the force & fury of nature across its length of north-eastern Pacific coast. It was one tsunami after another that swept through engulfing everything in their way.

It is said & believed that sins of the fathers will come to bear right through to the fourth generation. Is this what is happening for their horrible WW2 atrocities?

This present global upheaval has been prophesied. Believe it or not, Christians or non-Christians, just open up your mind & hearts.

(The prophecy of “The Time Of Shaking” was given by Lance Lambert in 1986 in a Prophetic Conference in Jerusalem.

153 prophets from 30 to 40 nations had

gathered to wait upon the Lord and to hear from the Lord. The highlights of

this prophecy to the entire body of Christ are as follows…)

“It will not be long before there will come upon the world a time of unparalleled upheaval and turmoil. Do not fear for it is I the Lord who am shaking all things. I began this shaking with the first worldwar and I greatly increased it through the second world war.

Since1973 I have given it an even greater impetus. In the last stage, I plan to complete it with the shaking of the universe itself, with signs in the sun and moon and stars. But before that point is reached,

I will judge the nations when the time is near. It will not only be by war and civil war, by anarchy and terrorism, and by monetary collapses that I will judge the nations, but also by natural disasters: by earthquakes, by shortages and famines and by old and new plague diseases. I will also judge them by giving them over to their own ways, the lawlessness, to loveless selfishness, to delusion

and to believing a lie; to false religion and an apostate church,

even to a Christianity without me.

Do not fear when these things begin to happen, for I disclose these things to you before they commence in order that you might be prepared, and that in the day of trouble and of evil you may stand firm and overcome. For I purpose that you may become the means of encouraging and strengthening many who love me but who are weak. I desire that through you many may become strong in me, and that multitudes of others might find my salvation through you.

“And hear this! Do not fear the power of the Kremlin, nor the power of the Islamic Revolution, for I plan to break both of them through Israel. I will bring down their pride and their arrogance, and shatter

them because they have blasphemed my name. In that day I will

avenge the blood of all the martyrs and of the innocent ones whom

they have slaughtered. I will surely do this thing for they have

thought that there was no one to judge them. But I have seen their ways and I have heard the cries of the oppressed and of the persecuted and I will break their power and make an end of them.

Be ye therefore prepared for when all this comes to pass, to you

will be given the great opportunity to preach the Gospel freely to

all nations. In the midst of all the turmoil and shaking, and at the

heart of everything, is My Church in the heaven lies. She is joined to Me in one Spirit and I have destined Her for the throne. You who are My beloved, whom I have redeemed and anointed – you are Mine. I will equip and empower you and you will rise up and do great things in My Name, even in the midst of darkness and evil. For I will reveal My power, and My grace and glory through you. Do not hold back nor question My ways with you for in all

My dealings with you I have always in mind that you should be

part of My Bride and reign with Me. Do not forget that this requires discipline and training. So yield to Me that I might do a work in you in the time which is left for I plan even during all this shaking the Bride will make Herself ready.

“For in the midst of these judgments multitudes upon multitudes

will be saved from the nations. You will hardly know how to bring the harvest in, but my Spirit will equip you for the task. And to Israel, will I also turn in that day, and I will melt the hardening which has befallen her. I will turn their blindness into clear sight, and tear away the veil on their heart. Then shall they be redeemed with heart bursting joy, and it will become a fountain of new and resurrection life to the whole company of the redeemed.

“Do not fear for these days, for I have purposed that you shall stand with Me and serve Me in them. Fear not, for I love you and I will protect you and equip you. I, the Lord, will anoint you with a new anointing and you will work My works and fulfil My counsel. You

shall stand before Me, the Lord of the whole earth and serve Me

with understanding and with power and you shall reign with Me

during these days. Above all, I call you to be intercessors.”

It’s already Gloomday

But now it’s more like Doomsday!

Be prepared for the Kingdom of God is nigh

Evil shall perish . . . the good shall prevail.

AMEN!

Dali – Yunnan, China

By P Chong                                                                                  16 March 2011

. . . where the ancient flourishes

right in modern mist!

Aerial View of Dali

The Traditional Dragon Dance

Hu Jintao, President of China, advocates “living harmoniously” and there’s no better place where the slogan is deeply rooted in the daily lives of the people. In Dali – an ancient town in Yunnan China, there’s a good cultural mix of different ethnic groupsHan Chinese, Bai & Naxi minorities and many others, all living in peace & harmony.

Ancient Dali lies within the ancient walls where the old way of life still flourishes, while modern Dali sprawls & spreads outside the protective walls – north, south, east or west.

Picturesque Erhai Lake Dominates the Region

. . . diversity in unity & unity in diversity.

Yunnan is noted for its very high level of ethnic diversity. It has the highest number of ethnic groups among all provinces and autonomous regions in China. Among the country’s fifty-six recognised ethnic groups, twenty-five are found in Yunnan. Some 38% of the province’s population are members of minorities, including the Yi, , Hani, Tai, Dai, Miao, Lisu, Hui, Naxi, Lahu, Va, Nakhi, Yao, Tibetan, Jingpo, Blang, Pumi, Nu, Achang, Jinuo, Mongolian, Derung, Manchu, Shui, and Buyei. All of them are educated in Mandarin & speak Mandarin fluently.

The current popular tune of “Darling, darling . . . darling na” (not sure of the song title & I am just going by the sound) flowed through the narrow cobble-stone streets as we wandered around. I learned that the soothing song was sung by a Naxi girl who first rendered it to be popular in the local tavern of Dali. My brother Mike bought me a copy of the CD seeing that I was so captivated by the tune.

I guess the beautiful catchy tune took the hearts of most visitors & tourists, who were mainly in their twenties or thirties, males & females, most of whom were armed with their hand-phones & digital cameras. There was only a handful of foreigners & oldies.

Young people reflect the rise of Chinese middle class & their mobility to travel & enjoy the pleasures of life long denied them. We found a couple of Australian tourists resting themselves by the shop front and upon chatting with them found that they had difficulties because of the language problem. Speaking & understanding Mandarin is necessary. Everybody speaks Mandarin. However, Mandarin or no Mandarin, people were generally friendly & helpful . . . smiling with a cheerful heart.

Greatest Earthquake in 140 Years Hit Japan

By P Chong                                                        Saturday, 12 March 2011

Via NHK Japan/English Satellite TV

Until last night I hadn’t known that my youngest brother Mike, Pacific Regional Manager for DuPont, was still in Tokyo, as he told me he was on his way to the U.S. Spoke to him on Skype last night and what a first-time seismic experience for him!

He was in the street when the greatest earthquake in 140 years hit off-shore the Island of Honshu, with its epicentre only 24 Km beneath the sea. Tokyo shook . . . chaos reigned . . . everything stopped functioning. No taxis were available & he had to walk with jostling crowds all the way back to his hotel.

The magnitude of the earthquake was said to be 8.8 in the Richter Scale. On the Japanese Scale of 0 to 7, it measured 7. The time was 2.46 pm on Friday, 11 March 2011.

Japan lies in the seismic zone known as “The Ring of Fire” which encircles the Pacific Rim – Philippines, Indonesia, New Zealand, East Coast of South America, up to California and right up to Alaska. Tsunami warning was let out to all these places. Initial tsunami waves in Japan were as high as 7 metres & 10 metres. All low lying coastal areas were subsequently warned of evacuation to higher ground. According to Meteorological Agency waves as high as 2 to 3 metres are to be expected with subsequent after shakes recorded in the region of 6.6 Richter Scale.

At the time of writing, NHK satellite TV of Japan announced death toll to be over 422 & 740 missing, but final figures would be hard to confirm. Japan does look to be one ‘ring of fire’.

Took some shots directly from the TV as the scenes were being televised. So here are the shots for your perusal . . .

The sheer force of tsunami waves engulfing everything in its path! Engulfing water full of debris & devastated materials!

Talk of the might & power of any country . . . all pale in significance when compared to the might of God. We are so very insignificant! Be humble man!

Everywhere ablaze . . . smoke & fire along the Pacific coast of Japan

As reported on Sunday, 13 March 2011 at 2.57 am, casualties stood at 680 and it could go beyond 1,000. In fact, in Miyagi Prefecture alone, it is estimated the casualties could be as high as 10,000. It’s the aftermath of the quake bringing on tsunami waves as high as 7,3 metres one after another. According to RT Satellite TV reports, Japan stands the danger of a nuclear disaster similar to that of Chernobyl with the detection of nuclear leaks as a result of explosions at Fukushima nuclear plant to the north of Tokyo. Four injured casualties were found to be affected by radiation leaks with more people being tested.. The question is how bad & extensive will it be & whether it can be contained.

It is feared that this earthquake disaster will stall Japan’s effort to recover from its weak economy. Authorities need to do far more than merely evacuate people from the area. This is a great national tragedy and Japan has appealed for international help.

All along the Pacific coast of Japan, casualties & death keep on mounting. Modern society has never seen the like of it. It’s staggering . . . a disaster that sees the engulfing seas of waves devastating entire villages & towns. It’s nature unleashing all its fury & might. Is this the sign from God, I wonder!

Malaysia: “UMNO Might . . . Malay Slight”

By P Chong                                                                           Friday, 11 March 2011

It shall come to pass . . .

Given enough rope, self-destruction is our hope!

UMNO killing their own kind!

May 13, 1969 marked the darkest period in the history of Malaysia . . . a socio-political watershed that saw the rise of UMNO from its near defeat in the polls. Defeat was hard to take, and UMNO under the guise of Barisan Nasional, a weighted political alliance with MCA & MIC (the Chinese & Indian political components), began to wield its control, implementing a host of legislations to ensure their future domination. These legislated policies embrace virtually everything: education, economics & trade, religion, special Bumiputra rights & privileges . . . just about anything the UMNOputra could lay their hands on.

Needless to say, it’s outright thieving & robbery the way the policies were implemented. If acquisition were on meritocracy ground, then all would be fair & square. But to outstrip & deprive the other fellow citizens of their rights & possessions is contrary to all laws of humankind.

The Internal Security Act forbids you to crying out loud lest you face imprisonment without trial. MCA & MIC are both political stooges or more like puppets on the string. The takers have them all . . . wealth, power & might. The kris (the Malaysian dagger) has often been used to threaten & intimidate the deprived non-Bumiputra citizens even in Parliament.

Yes, the UMNOputra Malay political elites have been king since the sixties wielding its might. However, the majority of the indigenous Malays are being slighted. The beneficiaries are only the UMNOputra politicians & their cronies. What’s been created is a class of UMNOputra politicians rich beyond the reach of the traditional kampong folks, who are not any better.

The only tangible benefits enjoyed by the traditional Malay folks are the abundance of mosques for their daily prayers, help & financial assistance for Mecca pilgrimage, easy & lower entry access to higher tertiary learning, privileged allocations to home purchases & jobs in the government sectors etc. In short, it’s one of spoon-feeding & handouts all the way! These economic crutches turned out to be more harmful than good – for the Malays, easy going as they are in their nature, are being disadvantaged in the world of keen competitiveness.

Economic activities in Malaysia, by & large, are still in the hands of the Chinese, Indians & a smaller percentage of others. These people take their economic plight in their strides . . . assiduously powering on. Businesses, big or small, are all over in the land of opportunities with the people who won’t say “die”. But being able to survive does not justify for discrimination or deprivation. I say, hard work will not a person killed, but sheer laziness or idleness will. You can’t knock a good man down!

The grievances of the non-Bumiputra are many & varied. Suffice for me to mention in passing. Pride, dignity & the ability to stand tall are far more valuable in the world of survival and globalisation.

Who is culling the Malay race? Are you becoming more advanced & progressive? Or are you still seeking to be a kept citizen, humble & deluded by having the State to look after you?

To quote the words of Dean Alfange:

I will never cower before any master, nor bend to any threat

It is my heritage to stand erect, proud and unafraid,

to think and act for myself, to enjoy the benefits of

my creations and to face the world boldly, and to say

‘This I have done.’ All this is what it means to be a Man.”

To grow to progress is to change: “UMNO Might . . . Malay Slight!”

When Others Stall . . . China Roars!

By P Chong                                                                                      10 March 2011

The race always go to the swiftest & the fastest. When your engine stalls, others will roar. There is no relenting . . . there is no waiting. There can only be winners or losers. That’s the name of the game. When you’re ahead, you’d race & surge on.

When I wrote “China‘s Leaping Achievements” in November 2009, which article still enjoys a great reading audience by topping the list up to the present, I hadn’t put in much details about how China build & grow from an impoverished economy to its present giant standing, overtaking Japan as the second largest economy & is right on the doorstep of the U.S.

Way back in the early 1960s when I was at the University of Malaya at Pantai valley, Kuala Lumpur, I had learned from our economic geography professor, Dr. Dwyer, one phrase of his famous expression: “The Chinese are the most assiduous in their economic pursuit . . . unshakeable & resilient “. According to him then no race in the world can ever even match or compare. A country maybe rich in its natural resources, but it’s the people that constitute the greatest of all resources, natural or otherwise. There are many countries in the world endowed with great natural resources but not getting anywhere and conversely, there are countries without such natural fortune making their marks in the world. Singapore, the City State, is undoubtedly the best example in this category.

"The Nest" Stadium
China has always been an inventing nation right from ancient times.
Printing, paper, fork, drum, silk, gunpowder, umbrellas, the plough, rice
cultivation, wheels and a whole lot of other things . . . are originally from China. Its history
is littered with war and famine, so you can expect the Chinese to be
tough and been there and done that sort of thing. After thousands of
years under the rule of dynasties and finally under Chairman Mao of Communist China. Deng Xiaoping, the architect of modern day China, began the nation
building with these words “Xiang Qian Zou” – The Road To Riches.

Nation building involves fundamentally the national identity
using the power of the state by the unification of its
people so that the state is politically stable and sustainable for future development. China addresses this problem very well and it
has built a patriotic, hard working and educated workforce. The key to
developing a nation’s wealth is developing your human resources . . . educating and building up the middle class. Science and technology hold up the base. In just three decades, China has shown the world an unprecedented growth.

China successfully prove what can be achieved when
a Communist nation embraces capitalism. As a nation, they have
synchronized the chaos into a force to be reckoned with. Even the West
has accepted the fact that the Chinese are smarter, more hardworking,
obliging and its immense pride to collectively build a nation.

Giant Pandas as often featured on the cover of China Today

From a nation of million bicycles, China has become a nation of cars. A few years ago there was a survey done by The Economist concerning
car ownership in China , India , France and USA . As predicted, USA has
more than 1000 cars, France 762, China 11 and India 7 for every 1000
people. Just only, last year China has become the biggest car market
in the world!! According to China Daily in the first 10 months car
sales were up 34% from last year … BMW has already fulfilled its
target of 112,000 cars for this year in September, Mercedes sold over
101,000 units and Rolls Royce sold more of its cars in China than the
US and last month Jaguar/Landrover has just open a new dealership in
China.

Today’s Communist China is only Communist in name.
The demand for luxury goods in China is growing at an exponential pace. Luxury items makers such as LV , Prada, Gucci, Coach and etc.
reported more than 100% annual growth for the past few years. It has
come to the point where Western products has to customize to suit the
Chinese needs and taste like longer leg rooms at the back seat for
Rolls Royce coz most of them are chauffeur driven so the bosses need
extra leg room !!

The amount of research articles published
by Chinese scientist is staggering. It is reported that China has jumped to number 2
 – up from 14th in 1995, in the number of articles published in the
science and technology journals worldwide such as IEEE, Nanotech & Applied Physics. It is an open secret that the majority of the
PhD students in the hard sciences enrolled in elite US universities
(Ivy League) are Chinese. It is these PhD graduates that will do most
of the research. It should be noted that a lot of the Microsoft
patents came from its Beijing Labs.

By far China ’s most successful research institution is the National
Institute for Biological Sciences or NBIS, which is responsible for
half of China’s scientific publication. The Institute’s 23 main
investigators, director and deputy director are all returnees from the
United States. Quote one of its principal investigators : “ If I
stayed in America the chances of making a discovery is slimmer, here
people take risk, they give you money and you can essentially do
whatever you want ”. (Refer information on www.economywatch.com.
) Patents are actually a measure of technological prowess and
innovation. Nations that file the largest number of patents are the
home to innovative corporations and Nobel Prize winners. It won’t be
long before you will see Chinese Nobel Prize winners. No wonder there are so
many first coming out of China nowadays.

China has the fastest Supercomputer (Tianhe-1A) in the world running at the speed of 2.5
petaflops which is equivalent to the power of 175,000 high-end laptops.

The fastest bullet train belongs to the Chinese (CRH360) with a top
speed of 262 miles per hour leaving the Japs and Germans far behind.
And these are indigenous technology. With all the money throwing into the
national car industry after 20 over years, we ended up being a ‘BETTER
 CAR ASSEMBLER’ than our neighbours.

China hold the whole world at ransom in July
this year by banning all its Rare Earth Materials. Rare earth
materials are a collection of 17 minerals found at the bottom of the
periodic table. China controls 95% of the world supply. These rare
earth includes cerium, scandium, yttrium, lanthanum and etc are used
in our daily lives such as handphones, laptops, camera lenses, flat
screen tv, x-ray machines, guided missiles systems, oil refineries
and etc. By banning, the exports of these materials China indirectly
impede the growth and development of many things. Fortunately, there
are 2 other companies in the world that will have the capability to
produce some to offset the Chinese ban. One is the Lynas Corp from
Western Australia which have a mine in Kuantan, Malaysia and it will
start production by end of next year, while the other is Molycorp from
California . How their combined output added up to around 40-50,000
tons which is still way below the global demand of 250,000 tons.
Unsurprisingly the shares of both of these companies jump multiple
folds since the July ban. Lynas was trading at some where 38cents in
July and the high of the year was $1.69 (ASX) and shares of Molycorp
are more than double now.

It is also a misconception that China’s success is due to its Cheap
Labour; yes, that was probably 15 years ago. However, the next
megatrend will be the growth of the Chinese Research & Development.
The Chinese will be able to apply the same cost advantage in its
manufacturing towards Research & Development in no time. If you notice
currently the global telecoms equipment sector is now dominated by 2
Chinese companies (about 65% of new installations) notably Huawei.
Western countries are buying this Chinese equipment not because it’s
cheap but also it is good!! In a recent electric car, trade show in
Shenzhen there is this Chinese R&D company that reinvented the
battery. Their battery last twice longer, much more power, half the
existing battery weight and 100% recyclable. This is going to change
the face of the global automobile market. With its low cost R&D,
product development and manufacturing, which country can match China?
It will continue to dominate the world for decades to come!!! In the
End, it is the Communist China that won the battle of capitalism.!!

So when will China overtake US as the number one economy in the world?
As predicted China will overtake Uncle Sam ‘s economy in two years in
terms of PPP (Purchasing Power Parity) It won’t be long as China’s
opponent is embraced with an insolvent banking system, high
unemployment rate , homeless population, high foreclosure rate and
with 40 million people on food stamps and its Federal Reserve printing
money out of thin air. Over here in China , its economy is growing at
a 10% pace annually.
And if you think, it’s easy for you to access the Chinese Market. Think again. If
your company owns certain patents they will demand access to them and
furthermore train their people on how to use your technology so that
they can reverse engineer it the moment you open shop. Just ask car
manufacturer Peugeot on the difficulty and pain in working with the
 Chinese.

China is also quietly building up its military and I believe it is
currently making use of the financial crisis to extend its
geopolitical and economic sphere of influence in Asia and beyond. China is already refurbishing an ex Russian aircraft carrier (Varyag)
due to completed in 2012 and building 2 other 50,000 to 60,000 ton
carriers due to complete in 2015. When completed China will have what
they called a ‘BLUE WATER NAVY’ . This means Chinese navy are capable
of operating across deep waters of the oceans and also able to launch
a nuclear attack from anywhere in the world. Moreover recent
developments in the Chinese missiles technology caught most western
powers off guard. For example, a few years back China conducted a
successful anti satellite missile test. It used a modified DF-21 (Dong
Feng) ballistic missile mounted with the kinetic kill vehicle to
intercept the satellite.

Another recent development is the Chinese ASBM or anti ship ballistic
missile the DF-21A which is designed to launch from land and can
penetrate the most advance defence from any moving aircraft carriers.
The carrier battle group used to be the ‘untouchables’ will no longer
hold and it will make the US aircraft carrier battle fleets a sitting
duck. With these multiple warhead ballistic missiles homing into these
battle groups, there is nothing they can do to stop it. Even if it
explode in mid air, imagine a nuclear warhead explodes in the vicinity
of the fleet, it will just vaporize the entire fleet.

There are so much more happenings that are ceaselessly unending. To list them all would not be possible here. Some of the great & would-be achievements are inescapable:

1. China’s Great Engineering Feat: The Three Gorges Dam

2. China – World’s Biggest Megapolis with 42 Millions!

3. China’s Engineering Might: Bullet Trasin

4. World’s Longest Cross-Sea Bridge – The Pearl River Delta  Bridge

Read in my blog “Who Owns The U.S.?” together with the above 4 topics, you’ll be amazed & astounded beyond all reasons to realise just how great & mighty China is and will be in the very near future.

It’s Just A Bend . . . Not The End!

By P Chong                                                                                                             Monday, 7 March 2011

It’s a beautiful world we live in

Life’s full of problems. As long as life exists, problems persist.

When life ceases then problem perishes.

Would you rather then have life & all that it entails?

The frailties & vanities of life are all that in their entireties!

They say that going to bed & sleeping it off generally helps a lot. Things somehow always look better with the dawn of a new day. Give your mind that needed peace & rest easing your heart from undue stress.

Life is a journey. For some it’s long & tedious. Others may be brief & short. We have no way of determining its duration. We can, however, able to determine our endurance. Are we made of the sterner stuff to brave the storms of life or are we just weaklings to succumb to every fall? Get up & stand tall & courageously face it all! Remember what they say: when life gets tough, the tough gets going.

All things in life are temporary. Eternity is for the angels. The way things are going in this world, hell is the answer. Doomsday will sweep away all the “boomdays”. If going well . . . enjoy . . . nothing last forever. If going wrong . . . worry not, . . . it can’t last long either.

Source: Photobucket – Life’s Good      Thank God. It’s just a bend . . . not the end!
In your life’s journey, accept all the sorrow with the potholes . . . climb each hill with zeal & thrill . . . face all the perils & brave the storms . . . have your goal & shoot your ball . . . and live life as though there’s no tomorrow. At the end of the day, be thankful unto the Lord that He has preserved you well to grant you grace to brave another swell.

Chime-Long Xiangjiang Safari Park, Guangzhou, China

By P Chong                                                                        5 March 2011

Names of the 12 pandas

For the first time these Pandas were on show at the recent 2010 Asian Game in Guangzhou

Chime-Long Xiangjiang Safari Park, covering an area of 130 hectares and located in the biggest city Guangzhou in south China, is the biggest animal theme park in Asia. Chimelong Xiangjiang Safari Park is located in Dashi Town, Panyu District, Guangzhou, 35mins from the heart of Guangzhou City. It’s a popular week-end outing place for Hong Kong residents, especially parents with kids.

Since its opening to the public in 1997, the Park has admitted over 10,000,000 tourists as of 27 April 2006. It has successfully imported 6 lovely koalas from Australia . . . the first time any organization in mainland China – an event recognised internationally that the Park been accepted as a world class animal park. Adding to their koala’s story of success was the successful birth of 4 baby koalas (joeys) in late 2006, including a set of extremely rare koala twins. The twins are only the second set of twins to be born in captivity, with the last set being born more than 50 years ago.

Rare White Tigers

As a world class animal park, it has also bred successfully 150 white tigers all from one. White tigers are unique and they have a special spot in the hearts of the Chinese as an animal of rare fortune. A few of these white tigers are even kept in the glass enclosure of the theme park hotel, adjoining the dinning area for visitors’ viewing & photography.

Private cars could just drive through the Park, slowly & leisurely, stopping frequently for photographing a wide range of animals from creatures great & small and also to have the pleasure of feeding them. The deers would come right up to the vehicles and eat off the food from feeding hands.

The zoo is broken into 2 main sections, the “Safari on Foot” section where guests walk around a modern zoo, and a “Safari on Wheels” section where guest’s board road trains and private cars to travel through three impressive open plains sections which are the Asian Plains, Predatory zone and African Savannah.

During the recent Asian Games held in Guangzhou, Chime-Long Park had 12 pandas for display there & to welcome participants & tourists. They are so unlike other known bears, even more distinct & famous than the Australian koalas.

Kids simply love this place. When night falls, there is the world-class circus performance in all its glorious colours.

Glaucoma – A Glimpse Of Hope Perhaps?

By P Chong                                                                                                                          4 March 2011

As a victim of glaucoma, when the ophthalmic surgeon keeps repeatedly telling you there’s no cure, I am game to try anything in the field of alternative or herbal medicine . . . perhaps to catch a glimpse of hope.   Every three months, I dutifully & faithfully visit my eye doctor as required. Though both my eye pressure has been maintained within the normal range, there is no other good news except to keep on with the daily & nightly eye drops: Alphagan, Lumigan & Cosopt and to keep on visiting him every three months. All he can do is to keep my present eye sight under control & prevent any deterioration. No other treatment is available presently!  The problem is the dead optic nerve which no longer transmit sight images to the brain.

Perhaps now there is a glimpse of hope! With strides being made in stem cell technology, gene therapy, surely further researches could bring about possible cure.

Now, I have just read hat Glaucoma may be treated with Chinese herbs, micro-acupuncture and or micro-current stimulation (MCS).

Micro Acupuncture is a procedure involving 48 newly discovered acupuncture points located only in the hands and feet, and not associated with any other acupuncture system. These points were discovered by Andy Freddy Dahlgren, D.Ss., D. Ac., M.Ac .F., M.D. in Denmark in 1984 and researched by Dr. Dahlgren and Dr. Per G. Otte, D. Sc., D. Ac., M.Ac .F. More than 5,000 people have been treated with this procedure throughout Europe, and over 10,000 people have benefited from Micro Acupuncture treatment in the US. 98% of the patients treated have had a marked improvement in their vision.

Micro-Current Stimulation (MCS) is an enhanced adaptation of a FDA approved therapy used by anesthesiologists, orthopedic surgeons, plastic surgeons and rehabilitative specialists to promote the healing of wounds and transplanted tissues as well as to treat pain.

Glaucoma is such an insidious disease that can be difficult to detect until a significant amount of vision is lost. Glaucoma is often referred to as the “silent thief”, because most individuals with undiagnosed glaucoma do not suffer from any symptoms until they begin to notice a reduction in their peripheral vision.

Update Inserted on 3 January 2019 . . . Scientists have successfully used stem cells in the case of two patients in UK.

Sight is such a special gift from God
Without which dark is the world!
You may lose your sight
But don’t ever lose your vision

Acres of Diamonds

Russell Herman Conwell Title: Leaders of men; ...

By P Chong     3 March 2011

Life insurance agents & sales executives would have heard the story of “Acres of Diamonds” many a time. Personally, I must have repeated it hundreds of times to my team of sales force when sales volume needed boosting. It’s a powerful motivational story, simple to relate . . . mind to stir . . . hearts to fill & desire to arouse!

“Acres of Diamonds”, an American rhetoric, originated as a speech which Russell Conwell delivered over 6,000 times around the world. It was first published in 1890 by the John Y. Huber Company of Philadelphia.

The crux of the matter is that one need not look elsewhere for opportunity, achievement, or fortune – the resources to achieve all good things are present in one’s own backyard or community. Yonder field is not necessarily greener.

This theme is developed by an introductory anecdote, told to Russell Conwell by an Arab guide, about a man who wanted to find diamonds so badly that he sold his property and went off in futile search for them; the new owner of his home discovered that a rich diamond mine was located right there on the property.

The theme could be motivationally told through examples of success, genius, service, or other virtues involving ordinary folks in the audience: “dig in your own back-yard!”

This story alone helped Russell Conwell to establish Temple University & his other civic projects . . . with income derived largely from his “Acres of Diamonds”speech. It could do the same for you . . . help you sell more life insurance policies, sell more real estate, keep on building up your clientele & never run out of prospects!

Let us remember there is not a poor person who was not made poor by his own shortcomings . . .

Who Owns The U.S.?

By P Chong 2 March 2011

Who owns the U.S.? Certainly not the Congress nor the White House nor the U.S. citizens. Read on this short concise & shocking report & find out . . .

U.S. NATIONAL DEBT CLOCK

The Outstanding Public Debt as of 01 Mar 2011 at 07:37:14 AM GMT is:

$14,152,979.452.299.10

The estimated population of the United States is 310,121,353 so each citizen’s share of this debt is $45,636.91

The National Debt has continued to increase an average of $4.12 billion per day since September 28, 2007!
Concerned? Then tell Congress and the White House!

Seven generations from now we will all be owned by the banks and be impoverished if this continues!

(This debt clock is maintained by Ed Hall (edhall@brillig.com). It was last calibrated using information obtained from the U.S. Department of the Treasury dated 25 February 2011. Population figures are derived from the U.S. Bureau of the CensusPopulation Clock.)

Whatever the rhetoric that Obama or the politicians or economists offer, figures speak louder than words. Facts & figures won’t lie. Without inputs & only withdrawals the coffers soon run dry. It can only disasters! Regardless of how much closer Obama’s budget brings U.S. economy into a balance of payments not seen since 2001, it will continue to run deficits for the next decade, and the national debt will just keep growing every year.

The Treasury Department and the Federal Reserve Board estimate that while most of the country’s $14 trillion debt is held by private banks in the U.S., as of December 2010r, about $4.4 trillion of it was held by foreign governments that purchase its treasury securities much as an investor buys shares in a company and comes to own his or her little chunk of the organization.

Looking at the list of our top international creditors, a few overall characteristics show some interesting trends: Three of the top 10 spots are held by China and its constituent parts, and while two of our biggest creditors are fellow English-speaking democracies, a considerable share of our debt is held by oil exporters that tend to be decidedly less friendly in other areas of international relations.

China $891.6 billion 20.40%
Japan 883.6 billion 20.20%
United Kingdom 541.3 billion 12.40%
Oil Exporters 218 billion 5.00%
Brazil 180.8 billion 4.10%
Caribean Banking

Centres

155.6 billion 3.60%
Hong Kong 138.2 billion 3.20%
Canada 134.6 billion 3.10%
Taiwan 131.9 billion 3.00%
Russia 106.2 billion 2.40%

Let’s hope Russian president Dmitry Medvedev, the least of the 10 creditors, doesn’t come to collect.

Over the years, America’s status as a creditor or debtor has changed enormously. In the early 1980s, America’s net international investment position averaged $350 billion, or 11 percent of GDP, making the United States the world’s largest creditor. Today, it is the world’s largest debtor – by far.

Foreign governments have taken notice – in particular, China, which now holds more U.S. Treasury debt than any other country. In the 12 months through April, China’s portfolio of Treasury debt securities has soared by more than a quarter of a trillion dollars to over $800 billion.

In its annual financial stability report issued on Friday, China’s central bank once again declared there were serious problems with the global monetary system’s reliance on a single dominant currency – the dollar. An estimated 65 percent to 70 percent of China’s $2 trillion in foreign exchange reserves, the world’s largest stockpile, is held in dollar-denominated assets.

The People’s Bank of China is taking steps in the right direction with its expansionary monetary and fiscal policies. It is making available & possible for its trading partners to use the Yuan as the currency of exchange instead of solely dependent upon the U.S. dollar.

The people in the Middle East . . . the Tunisians, the Egyptians, the Libyans . . . their loss as compared to the American citizens are but pittance. Now it looks like the upheaval, riot & civil unrest are spreading to other parts of the Middle East . . . Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Yeman and others.

It’s democracy gone crazy!

Or is it just a ploy & secret agenda of vested party (or parties) to wrest & control the wealth of oil in the region?
