Heyday’s Gone, Doomsday’s Coming On!

In retrospect, when I first preached this message in 1993, the world’s problems were much less aggravating, but predictably indicating of worst things to come. How precisely true when we look at today’s chaos everywhere! Is there any nook & corner of the world that is not plagued with problems?

Someone once said, “Jerusalem is a golden basin full of scorpions.” Three major religions of the world, Christianity, Islam & Judaism all have a claim over this holiest of cities. Yet, unbelievably & ironically, all its holiness pales in significance when compared to all the religious & political killings & conflict since time memorial. So much violence, atrocities, grief, misery . . . where is love and peace as preached?

Logically, since there is but one God, there should be but one religion. But mankind through its ingenuity & human intelligence rationalised & justified by instituting a ramification of religions to suit its convenience & concept. Such is the nature of mankind. Just like a man that is born of a woman has but a short life to live with its fill of misery, what else is there to be said of man’s other institutions & artefacts? Man-made misery is rampant & widespread. No one continent is free from conflict & warfare. The question is, will it ever end?

Unlike civilisations of old, our present civilisation is materialistic in nature, breeding greed, discontent & all sorts of immoral objectives. The moral, philosophical, cultural & non-materialistic aspect of civilisation is overwhelmed largely by economic consideration. Capitalism captivates & transcends all levels of society & invades the hearts & minds of all without exception. There is no global territorial restriction as evidenced by the crumbled communist walls with their iron or bamboo curtains.

Nationalistically, power & world supremacy reign supreme. Individually, the same applies. Western civilisation started to flourish with the rapid organisation of church activities. Church leaders wield tremendous power & influence over the nation & its people. The best example being the Pope & the Vatican. The Pope is without doubt easily the most powerful figure in the world . . . his followers transcend all national boundaries.

Mankind may be Christian in name, but barbaric in deeds. It’s apparent everywhere. Like Prophet Mohammed who conquered with a sword in one hand & the Koran in the other, Popes of the previous era had conquered with sword in one hand & the Bible in the other. The calamities & atrocities arising out of wars are unforgivable.

The Asian crisis of the 90s was not confined just to the economic frontier, but with civil unrest in Indonesia & India testing out its nuclear might threatening its immediate neighbour of Pakistan, Asia & the world.

The present global financial crisis is even more threatening, coupled with wars raging all over. Over & above all these, natural disasters & catastrophe are more rampant & pronounced. Sovereign debt crisis bringing Eurozone to its knees. Could all these signal the coming of the end?

In the 90s, there was on TV of a Japanese sect claiming that the true Jesus Christ came to Japan. He married & lived to a ripe old age of 105 and was buried in Japan. The person that hung on the cross was in fact His own brother, who was mistaken to be Him. Jesus’ coming to Japan was His Second Coming. His first was when He was aged 21 when he learnt a great deal from the Shinto before going back to Israel to preach. Believe it?

You only have to look at the Australian society to be alarmed at the abominable happenings . . . church condoning homosexuality . . . allowing non-Christian to be minister . . . pastor welcoming Freemasons into their midst in Church & being struck dead upon sitting down . . . police, politicians, church people marching together with the Mardi Gras celebration . . . the list goes on & on. It’s inevitable we are heading towards the days of Sodom & Gomorrah. In Matthew 10:125, it is said: “I tell you the truth, it will be more bearable for Sodom & Gomorrah on the day of judgement than for . . .”.

The scenario in the United States of America, all too familiar, is far worst than the above . . .

When you look at today’s world . . . financial crisis, sovereign debt crisis, double-digit unemployment, wars & atrocities, natural disasters & calamities, human sufferings, social unrest . . . there is nothing positively right!

Are the final days upon us? Is mankind so blind as to be wiped out by the twin perils of Armageddon and a doomsday comet? Signs are everywhere of Jesus’ Second Coming and God will establish Heaven on Earth, creating a virtual paradise for true believers everywhere. The righteous will inherit life eternal in all its glories. Unless the unrighteous repent eternal condemnation is a certainty. Just like the days of old, as with the people of Sodom & Gomorrah unconcerned & believing not, the present generation of people will face judgement in a much more drastic way!

This is indeed food for thought . . . serious matter to be taken to heart, mind & soul. Our days on earth are naturally numbered as they are . . . what more with such swift & cataclysmic changes. In the present era of instant communication and super electronic highway, adverse happenings are instantly relayed on the small screen. Some of these present day happenings are really scary.

No more hearsay . . . more like near-say!

To be forewarned is to be forearmed. Repent & be prepared for the Judgement Day is upon us. We would not be caught with “wine, women & song” in more atrocious ways than the days of Sodom & Gomorrah! The final crunch will affect us all globally!

God is gracious and forever faithful to His promises. His arms are wide open. Let Him receive us in the comfort of His arms. Amen.

Evil Shall Fail . . . The Righteous Prevail

By P Chong

Nuclear Explosion

If you ever feel that evildoers seemed to be more blessed, and the righteous more prosecuted, just remember God’s words as saying in Malachi 3:16-18:

“They will be Mine,” says the Lord Almighty, “in the day when I take up My treasured possession. I will spare them, just as in compassion a man spares his son who serves him. And you will again see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not”

The forces of evil are abundantly out there; you have to stand tall and courageous to brave them all. Remember the destruction of Sodom & Gomorrah in Biblical times, so many perished and so few were saved. Those days evil was seemingly more confined, but without a doubt in modern time evil is everywhere. There is no escaping. People are even justifying by saying that it is right if the majority is doing it. Another argument goes by the notion of personal right. When overcome by evil desire countless justification will flourish to ease the wronged conscience.

Satan has a way of switching the “price tags” turning the world topsy turvy. It seems so difficult to distinguish between right and wrong. In the courts of law, with a good lawyer you can get away with murder. Con artists flourish with their silver tongues. Burglars enrich themselves by depriving the unfortunate of their worldly possessions. The true meaning of a joyous occasion becomes camouflaged and concealed with commercial overtone attached. The news media in consideration of sensationalism and profit highlight the negative rather than the good. Such is the nature of the world we live in.

Evil is widespread beyond all territorial restrictions. Wars these days kill more people than the battles of ancient time. Waves of change flow with the tides, penetrating every shore on earth. Instant communication, both audio and visual impact the homes without exception. It’s been more than thirty years since Darwin was swept away and devastated by Cyclone Tracy. Dare we to say that with moral deterioration, destruction will be more instant and widespread globally. There have been of late  more natural disasters & wars ever experienced by mankind. Whither are we going?

More than ever this is the time for reflection. This is the time for us to draw closer to God. Morally we need to be fortified in order to withstand. This is the season and the reason to concentrate on Jesus, our Lord and Saviour. Let there be more loving and sharing. Be of good cheer. God rewards faithful obedience. Relationship with God requires patience, suffering, and perseverance.

The Gloom & Doom That Zoom!

b50554614

My message that was written & delivered on Sunday, 11 July 1999 bears witness

to the present day economic crisis with most scenario cases falling into places.

This is indeed shocking & absolutely unbelievable!

I had stood in front of the pulpit that Sunday morning with about a hundred congregation in attendance. I began the delivery with an introduction of a legendary story about the fact that “No one will get out of this world alive!”

This wonderful legend centres on the servant of a wealthy merchant in Baghdad who claimed to have seen DEATH in the market place raising its hand to strike him. Frightened as he was, he escaped & rushed home begging his master to lend him his fastest horse so that he could get away.

but where will you go?” asked the merchant.

I will go to Samarra,”explained the servant. “DEATH will not find me there.”

So the merchant gave his servant the fastest horse in his stables, and the servant rode swiftly off to the city of Samarra where he hoped to hide.

The merchant later went to the market himself to get his own supplies. While there he too saw DEATH. So he inquired of DEATH, “Why did you raise your hand to strike my servant a while ago?”

DEATH replied, “Actually I meant him no harm at that moment. Raising my arm was a gesture of surprise. You see, I didn’t expect to find him here, for I have an appointment with him tonight at Samarra!”

The servant of Baghdad would discover that no matter how fast the horse not how far the journey, he could not escape his appointment with DEATH.

The first human doom was spelt out right after Adam & Eve were driven out of the Garden of Eden when they disobeyed God by eating the forbidden fruit, “ . . . for when you eat of it you will surely die.” (Genesis 2 : 16 -17) . Human beings have been suffering & dying . . . paying the penalty of sin ever since the dawn of mankind.

Gross individualism & self-centeredness under the guise of human rights & individual freedom have contributed much to our present day problems. The realm of greed & covetousness further accentuates & breeds the abominable trend of modern day living of Sodom & Gomorrah – condoned particularly by the Western capitalistic world. When people deviate from the fundamental through the process of rationalization & justification, Satan under the guise of individualism & self-centeredness springs forth in all its ugliness.

God’s Commandments are very precise. There are no grey areas as people made out to be. Human ingenuity & supposedly superior intellect can only lead along the broad & straight road to condemnation and the gates of hell. Moral degradation is evident everywhere & nobody seem to care. With God you do not compromise to suit your own convenience & purpose. Our God is a God of order. His Commandments are expected to be obeyed.

It’s inevitable we’re heading towards the days of Sodom & Gomorrah . . . even worse. Biblically, those days were rather confined & restricted in terms of territories. Present day situation is happening globally! In Matthew 10:15, it is said: “I tell you the truth, it will be more bearable for Sodom & Gomorrah on the day of judgement than for . . . “.

Are the final days upon us? Is mankind so blind as to be wiped out by the twin perils of Armageddon and a doomsday comet? Signs are everywhere of Jesus’ Second Coming & God will establish Heaven on Earth, creating a virtual paradise for the true & faithful believers. The righteous will inherit life eternal in all its glories. Unless the unrighteous repent eternal condemnation is a certainty. Just like the days of old, as with the people of Sodom & Gomorrah. Unconcerned & believing not, the present generation of people will face judgement in a much more drastic way!

Standing on the threshold of the 21st Century & the advent of Y2K, world leaders through the United Nations are charting a new course for mankind. The plan calls for the yielding of the sovereignty of all nations to the United nations. It also plan to unite all religions. Foremost in the play of the “Big Brother Syndrome” is the US. The course of history is going to be changed drastically. The following features would become real:

  • A borderless world economy has already occurred in Europe

  • Collapse of world economy & globalisation (Rev. 18)

  • Introduction of Smartcard with “666” as identification (Rev 13)

  • Earthquake & natural calamities

  • Economic crisis in US, Europe & Japan

  • Loss of confidence in US currency

  • The rise & fall of Euro Dollars

  • Peace Treaty (Daniel 9:27)

  • Building of the Third Temple (II Thessalonians 2:4)

  • Desolation of Jerusalem (Luke 21:20 – 24)

  • Revelation of Anti-Christ & tribulation ( II Thessalonians 2: 1 -12)

This is indeed food for thought. Our days on earth are naturally numbered as they are. What more with such swift & cataclysmic changes. In the present era of instant communication & super highways, adverse happenings are verified truism that can be watched realistically on our small screen almost immediately as they happen.

NO MORE HEARSAY . . . MORE LIKE NEARSAY!

There is however hope & love for true believers. Our Lord Jesus lives. He is the same today as yesterday. He is alive and coming back to fulfil all the promises of God. All the other prophets in all religions have died and they are not coming back again, for they are all dead!

To be prepared rather than to be despaired!

Repent & be prepare for the Judgement Day is upon us. We would not be caught with “drink & be merry for tomorrow we die” attitude or be famished with “wine women & song” as though there’s no tomorrow.

God is offering you the gift of salvation & all you need do is to repent for your sins and accept Jesus as your personal Saviour and Lord of your life. God is gracious & forever faithful to His promises. His arms are wide open to receive you. There is a room waiting for you in Heaven . . . hopefully & prayerfully our final destination.

GROSS INDIVIDUALISM AND SELF- CENTEREDNESS

GROSS INDIVIDUALISM AND SELF- CENTEREDNESS

SANY2238

The ever increasing human problems in our modern day society is attributed largely to gross individualism and self-centeredness. Under the guise of human rights and individual freedom therein breeds abominable trend of modern day living of SODOM and GOMORRAH, that is even condoned by some churches, and which is openly and unashamedly exhibited in public eyes. No more the coy old days, when it was taboo to even talk about it!

When people deviate from the fundamental through the process of rationalization and justification, Satan under the guise of gross individualism and self-centeredness springs forth in all its ugliness.

God’s Commandments are very precise. They are no grey areas as people made out to be. Human ingenuity and supposedly superior intellect can only lead along the broad and straight road to condemnation and the gates of hell.

The degradation of human kind is evident everywhere.

Is there no hope?

WITH GOD, YOU DO NOT COMPROMISE TO SUIT YOUR OWN CONVENIENCE.

Be God-centered.

To be forewarned is to be forearmed.
