Music: The Food of Love

By Paul Chong   Sunday, 6 September 2015

‘If music be the food of love, play on,Give me excess of it; that surfeiting,The appetite may sicken, and so die.’ – William Shakespeare.
Duke Orsino in Twelfth Night is asking for more music because he is frustrated in his courtship of Countess Olivia. He muses that an excess of music might cure his obsession with love, in the way that eating too much removes one’s appetite for food.
Music plays an important part in Shakespeare’s plays and is often used to carry the plot. It’s reasonable to surmise that he did believe it the be ‘the food of love’.

Love is a component part of life and so is music. Music touches the heart & melts it when mere words of expression fail. All the world love a lover & lovers are so akin to music.

However, it’s classical music that will withstand the test of time, like true love . . . it never die! It remains forever green. It’s eternal.

My own appreciation of classical music was introduced by a Mr. Thomas A Santsingh who taught me in the lower secondary school, where I was exposed to the “Pastoral Symphony” . . . waltzes of Johan Strauss as “Tales of Vienna Woods”, “Blue Danube” just to mention in passing. zi was exposed to such classical operatic singers like Enrico Caruso, Beniamino Gigli & Mario Lanza.

Some of the most beautiful classical music known to man are presented for your listening pleasure here. May they live forever in your hearts.

Für Elise – Beethoven on Guitar ( Now on iTunes )
Für Elise is one of Ludwig van Beethoven’s most popular compositions. Composed in 1810, it was only published in 1867 – 40 years after the composer’s death in 1827. The composition was hidden away until Ludwig Nohl found it and gave it back to the world.

The Chopin Minute Waltz is one of my all time favorite pieces to play! Chopin is incredible and I’ve been wanting to rerecord a decent version of minute waltz with my current equipment. I also want to send a HUGE thank you to God for allowing me to play the minute waltz again after a time where I was too sick to even play anything let alone Chopin. This really is a huge deal for me to play the minute waltz again! I hope you enjoy and have fun listening to it.

Arabeske op. 18 in C major – Robert Schumann.

Schumann composed the Arabeske in 1839 to express his sadness and longing for his beloved – Clara Wieck. Clara’s father did not approve of their relationship, which resulted in Schumann moving to another city, but his love for Clara never died.

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 2 — Former Miss World/Malaysia-turned-singer Soo Wincci said she is willing to put her career, fame and even her citizenship on the line after posting a video calling for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to step down from office.

The Malaysian-born currently based in Taiwan said she wanted to use her position as a celebrity to represent the people in rejecting Najib’s administration, Malay-language news portal mStar Online reported today.
“Before I uploaded the video, I already prepared myself for all the risks that may come my way.
“Should my name be blocked by any media channels, I accept it,” she was quoted as saying.
In the video uploaded on Sunday, Soo said she was inspired by images of the mass Bersih 4 rally here over the weekend and dedicated a previously unreleased song called “This is the Time” to the demonstrators.

Embeddded Video: <iframe width=”560″ height=”315″ src=”https://www.youtube.com/embed/EhrtaehFdg4&#8243; frameborder=”0″ allowfullscreen>

In the video itself she addresses the possibility of being blacklisted from returning to the country in expressing her support for the demands of Bersih 2.0.

“You have been on the stage for too long and the stage now is too crowded. Hopefully you can give us some space and please come down from the stage. Give us back some space for freedom,” she said in the video, addressing it to Najib.
In the interview with mStar Online, Soo said she will continue her efforts even if her career takes a hit in her home country as a result of criticism against the government.
“What I am doing is not for my own ease, but for the future generations,” she was quoted saying.

Malaysia: Score From A’s to C’s

By Paul Chong        Tuesday, 1 September 2015

1mdb-001-malaysian-reserve-2

Mahathir capitalised on his “Malay Dilemma” & professing to be true blue Bumiputra with his wiry ways to establish himself as the virtual king in the Malaysian political arena & ruled ultimately for 22 years, a record reign of standing up to now.

Mahathir - M's all the way
Mahathir – M’s all the way

Significantly, Mahathir’s reign was all M’s . . . his name itself Mahathir Mohamed . . . “Malay Dilemma’ (his book) . . . it’s all Money, Money, Money. He initiated & established the M 9Money) culture.

Najib - Najibism . . . From A's to C's
Najib – Najibism . . . From A’s to C’s

Najib’s time is all A’s . . . He distinguished himself as the only the Prime Minister in this whole wide world who could get away with alleged murder of Mongolian beauty queen Altantuya. . Added to that great score, he committed Anuar Ibrahim, the former DPM under Mahathir, to a life of sodomy. He even staged all the obstacles to prevent Azizah, wife of Anuar, from almost not succeeding as Selangor’s Chief Minister. Two Aircrafts (MH370 & MH17) hitting the world’s headlines in their controversial disappearance & crash . . . a mystery till today unsolved. Najib ruled that the word “Allah” (referring to God) could only be used by the Muslims.

BERSIH 4 - Protests all over the world
BERSIH 4 – Protests all over the world

With all the follies of A’s he furthered himself to changing the famous catch phrase of CCN (Corruption, Cronyism Nepotism) to CNN, the last N being Najibism . . . more famous than the American media CNN. The crux of Malaysia’s political quagmire is the 1MDB (1 Malaysia Development Berhad) – the national financial investment front of which he is the chairman, is the misappropriation of US$700 million or MR2.6 billion revealed by WSJ to have found its way to the personal account of Najib. He claimed it to be a political donation from a Middle East donor. The end is near at hand with the global BERSIH 4 protests. He has been given enough rope to hang himself!

The Malaysian political quagmire as seen in the crisis thus created . . . the glaring loss of confidence & credibility, the fall of commodity prices & contending with the weakening ringgit. Capitalism is dying or dead according to the INCEIF emeritus professor Datuk Mohamed Ariff.

Mohamed Ariff said : “It appears that the country is in denial mode … The sharp fall in commodity prices, rapidly shrinking ringgit, ballooning external debt, ailing stock market and falling central bank reserves are all taking a heavy toll on the Malaysian economy. And yet, we keep hearing that the fundamentals are still strong.”
“Such talk only serves to dampen investor sentiment further, as these give rise to the impression that the government cannot even recognise or understand that there is a problem in the first place, let alone fix it,” he said.
According to Mohamed Ariff, the country’s confidence and credibility crisis stemmed mainly from domestic factors.
He said these factors included the absence of checks and balances besides a lack of transparency, disclosure and accountability.

“The crisis the country currently faces is largely homegrown. It smacks of poor governance and mismanagement. The ongoing financial scandals speak volumes. The poor handling of the issues with no straight answers and the absence of checks and balances have affected the country’s image in the global arena … The economy is bogged down in a crisis of confidence and credibility. To put the economy back on track, we must restore confidence and credibility, which can only come with increased transparency, disclosures and accountability,” Mohamed Ariff said
Last Wednesday (Aug 26), the ringgit weakened to a new point against the US dollar at 4.2995. Compared to the Singapre dollar, the ringgit depreciated to a fresh level at 3.0563.

Yesterday (Aug 28), the ringgit changed hands against the US dollar at 4.1990. Compared to the Singapore currency, the ringgit was traded at 2.9903.

Australia: The Question of Becoming A Republic

By Paul Chong Sunday 30 August 2015

Unknown-3

As I sat at our little breakfast table having my late dinner of rice porridge, fish & some vegetables, I listened to the speaker on the ABC addressing an enthusiastic audience over the question of Australia becoming a Republic. For as long as I have lived in Perth since 1982, I have heard for countless times the word “Republic” but to no end.

Personally, I find it hard to believe that the Australians will ever change. I am a Chinese by Descent . . . an Australian by Consent. I have lived here longer than I have ever lived elsewhere. If I may compare myself (certainly not in the same status) to Warren Buffett, the American self-made billionaire, who has lived in the same modest home he first bought over 30 years ago, I have dwelled in our little holiday home sitting on the escarpment of Perth Hills for nearly 30 years. This is my own paradise with vista vision to the valley, the City of Perth & beyond.

To-night as I walked down the slope of our home to throw away the garbage, it was foggy, rainy, cold with a light wind & the city lights were shrouded by fog. It was dark & wet.

In 1984 I wrote a little book entitled “How to Have Motivation Unlimited” predicting that Australia would become a poor cousin to its neighbouring Asian nations. True enough. Just take a look at Singapore, a little city state without any natural resources & impoverished as compared to the great “Down Under”. Singapore however is not lacking in the wealth of people resources with the drive, courage & determination to make it work under the great leadership of the late Lee Kuan Yew.

images

WHEN I first arrived in Perth (1982) solely focussed on giving our three children a brighter future, some friends were telling me that I would find the Australians as “White Malays”. You all know at this stage what’s happening in Malaysia. Today (Saturday 29 August 2015) people globally joined hands in mass BERSIH 4 rallies (Bersih means clean). The Malaysian government UMNO/BN has been milking the country clean through its catchword of CCN practice of corruption, cronyism & nepotism over a period of more than 50 years since its independence from Britain. Now the catchword is changed to CNN (confused not with the famous media CNN) which stands for Corruption, Nepotism & “Najibism”. This time BERSIH 4 movement has been the result of recent WSJ revelation that MR2.6 billion (US$700 million) went missing from the funds of 1MDB, proclaimed investment front for the Malaysians under his chairmanship, into the personal bank account of Najib, chairman & the incumbent Malaysian Prime Minister.

In a quick flashback, I have witnessed in Australia the economic downturn of the early 1980s – the “Bottom of the Harbour” scheme, the achievement of late Alan Bond, the flamboyant house painter who became infamous as a rich oil painting collector with his ponzi business schemes. He was the hero for first winning the America Cup in 1984.

Politically, the scenario was one of in-fighting, incessant rivalry between Andrew Peacock and John Howard, the likes of Paul Keating, reputably proclaimed by his predecessor Bob Hawke as the best Finance Minister in the world, back-stabbing leadership between Julia Gillard & Kevin Rudd . . . the fast changing of guards like changing daily clothing. Hope that things would be different now under the reign of Tony Abbot. Yes, Anthony John “Tony” Abbott MP is the 28th and current Prime Minister of Australia. He has held this position since 2013, and been Leader of the Liberal Party since 2009. We pray, hope & trust for a hero he be in returning Australia to its former glory.

Unknown

All these years that I live in Australia, I have known but one good leader in the person of Robert Menzies. He was like John Howard inclined looking towards England – the helpless far-off motherland. That tie is still strong among the Aussies, and until such time the umbilical cord is severed, Australia will forever drift along.

“No worries. She’ll be right mate” attitude is deeply ingrained in the mind & hearts of the Australians. They will never see that to grow to progress is to change. Change will be hard to come by. What we need is not a BERSIH movement but a mental revolution. “Life isn’t a bed of roses” so said Malcolm Frazer, the has been prime minister. Roses are beautiful but their thorns are prickly.

Perhaps, OBAMA could come over to Australia to inculcate the change concept among the Australians. However, I reserve my comments . . . certainly not the way the president is dragging the nation down economically & politically.

As for Malaysia, Najib Razak, who scored 5 straight A’s in his term as Prime Minister of Malaysia. This is in reference to his follies with the murder of Mongolian beauty queen Altantuya, Anwar Ibrahim, a former Deputy PM, with sodomy charges, the forbidden use of the word Allah by non-Muslims, trying to block Azizah, wife of Anwar from being the chief minister of Selangor and last but least the recent Aircraft crash of MH 17. The end of his era is nearing its end!

Kevin Rudd
Kevin Rudd

It is the kind of leader at the helm of the nation that will prove the positive outcome of the nation. A country must be able to decide its own fate & that will demand a good strong man – a man with the vision, courage & the right focus to steer the nation through the roughest oceans.

During tough times, the overjoyed concept of “sun, sand, sea & surf” must be forfeited. Australia’s economic future is tied to its Asian neighbours – the very people at our doorstep . . . not motherland England nor the far-off American shores.

Be a republic, a change is refreshing & rejuvenating. Let’s turn on a new page in the economic & social life of the Aussies. Find the right leader!

In keeping with the trendy organic culture of today, be surprised as what you can achieve with epsom salt.
Epsom salt may be associated with your kitchen but it’s also a miracle worker for gardening. It can enrich your soil with additional nutrients (like magnesium), increase your vegetable output, and speed up your plant growth & many more benefits.

Unknown

1. Enriching your Roses – Roses benefit from epsom salt immensely. It provides them with magnesium, which is vital for chlorophyll production and seed germination. By adding this salt, the rose bush produces more vibrant blooms with richer colours and darker foliage, and the plant grows stronger. The plant’s inflow of sulfur, nitrogen and phosphorus improves too.

What to Do: When planting a rose bush, soak the roots in a ½ cup salt diluted in one gallon water beforehand. Sprinkle a tablespoon of salt in the hole in the ground and cover this with a thin layer of soil. During the growing season, you can sprinkle a tablespoon of salt per foot of plant height to the base of the plant once a month before watering.

Unknown-1

2. Grow Healthier Tomatoes and Peppers – Both these plants use up a lot of magnesium while growing, so adding epsom salt – which are easily absorbed into the plant – offers gardeners a cheap source of magnesium for their crops. The Epsom salt helps in other ways too: The plants are stronger, produce more fruit, with less blossom rot, deeper color, and more flavorful vegetables. Gardeners also report sweeter and healthy-sized vegetables.
What to do: When planting a new tomato or pepper plant, dig a hole, place one tablespoon of salt in the hole and then cover with a thin layer of soil. You can position the plant on top of this. During the growing season, you can give the plants a liquid treatment every two weeks: Mix 1 tablespoon in a gallon of water and water the plants with this mix. Using warm water can make it easier to dissolve the salt.
3. Cultivate Better Flowers and Stronger Blooms – Experienced gardeners swear that adding epsom salt to their flower gardens benefits the plants. They cite that the added nutrients make their plants healthier, grow stronger flowers and feature blossoms with improved colour and texture. Start by adding the Epsom salt to the soil when planting new flower-bearing plants, and after that treat the plants with a liquid solution (same method mentioned in #3) every two to three weeks.

4. Nurture Better Azaleas and RhododendronUnknown-2 – Add some Epsom salt to help these flowering plants produce more buds. The supplement of sulfate from the Epsom salt also helps prevent the plants from turning yellow. Every two to four weeks you can apply 1 tablespoon per 9 square feet, making sure to cover the root zone.

5. Grow Greener Grass – Adding epsom salt to your lawn can supplement the grass with minerals that make the grass healthier, greener and grow stronger, enabling the plant to withstand any harsh environmental factors. Adding this salt can help with the germination process and the seed growth in the early stages. What to do: Use a spreader, or dilute the salt in water and apply with a sprayer. It’s recommended that three pounds be applied per every 1250 square feet.
6. Help Fruit Trees Flourish – It is a long process for a tree to bear fruit, but adding the salt to its soil helps the plant reap better-tasting, nutritious and more attractive fruit. It can also help improve photosynthesis, and make the tree more weather and disease resistant. You can treat the trees three times a year with 2 tablespoons per 9 square feet, applied over the root zone.
7. Prevent Palm Trees from Getting “Frizzle Top” – Frizzle top is what gardeners call the palm trees with yellow or light green leaves at the top. It looks as if the plant is having a bad hair day, hence the name. You can remedy this by applying epsom salt at the base and then spraying the leaves and crown with a liquid mixture (1 tablespoon mixed in a gallon of water).

8. Stop Leaves from Curling – Another problem plants incur due to a lack of magnesium is that their leaves begin to curl. If this is the case, you can drench the soil with a mixture of 1 tablespoon salt dissolved in 1 gallon of water, or just sprinkle salt into the soil before watering.

9. Avoiding Yellowing Bougainvillea and Gardenia Leaves – These low maintenance plants are beautiful additions to a garden. However, due to their heavy flowering or if their soil pH is slightly off balance, they can suffer from low levels of magnesium, which results in yellowing blooms or foliage. You can fix this by sprinkling ½ cup of salt in the ground around the plant roots.
10. Put an End to Yellowing Leaves – When plants lack magnesium or sulfur, their foliage often turns yellow. Epsom salt’s technical name is magnesium sulfate, which makes it the perfect fix for this problem. Plants such as ferns, cycads, and elephant-ear plants benefit from richer foliage coloring with Epsom salt treatments. Add epsom salt to soil fertilizer once a month and, if you want to solve the problem more quickly, you can spray a solution of 1 tablespoon per gallon directly onto the plant leaves.

11. Helping with Transplant Shock – If you move a plant to a new location or from a pot to the ground, the roots can get damaged and shock can occur. Help the plant adapt more easily to its new environment by adding epsom salt, which facilitate chlorophyll production. Water after planting with a solution of one gallon water mixed with one tablespoon of epsom salt.

Unknown-3

12. Keeps Slugs Away – epsom salt can offer a non-toxic way to rid your garden of unwanted pests. Sprinkling them will keep slugs and snails from nibbling on your plants leaves and fruit, making your garden safer for animals and children, because you didn’t add pesticides to the soil.
13. Easily Remove Tree Stumps – epsom salt can help you drain a tree stump, so that it is easier to remove it. Drill holes in the top of the stump, with three to four inch gaps in between, and fill these with the salt. You can also pour it on any exposed roots to dry them out as well. Add water after filling the holes with the salt – it can take several tries to completely dry out the stump, but the salts speed up the process.

14. Help Remove a Splinter – It’s easy to get a splinter when working in the garden, even when wearing gloves. They can be irritating and painful, but epsom salt can help with this too. Soak the affected area with a mixture of 2 tablespoons of the salts dissolved in a cup of water. This solution will increase the skin’s osmotic pressure, and help draw the splinter out on its own.

15. Killing Weeds – Create a homemade weed killer that can efficiently destroy weeds but won’t damage your growing plants. Mix 2 cups of epsom salt with 1 gallon of vinegar, and add a few squirts of liquid dish soap into the solution. Store this in a spray bottle and apply to any destructive weeds.

The End is Near . . .

imagesDesperado Najib – the Flamboyant Prime Minister of Malaysia

If you should ever confront a wounded tiger in the wild, be extra cautious, for the wounded tiger is more than likely to be more ferocious, insanely wild, unpredictable & fearless. With its diminished ability to hunt for food, it would attack & devour anything in sight.

Look at Najib (as pictured above), his body language betrays his usual “gaya” self . . . now depressed, desperate & lacking any sense of aura & direction. He’s like a drowning man in the great stormy ocean clinging on to the last straw.

According to Bloomberg’s report on 19 August 2015:
“Malaysia Riskier Than Mexico Has UBS Warning of Worse to Come”. How long can you keep on pumping out the oil & draining it away? With $700 million drained into his own personal bank account that was initially linked to debt-ridden state investment fund 1Malaysia Development Bhd, “Malaysia is paying the price for weak foreign currency holdings and messy politics as the cost to protect its debt soars to near a four-year high,” UBS Group AG predicts even more pain ahead.

The late Lee Kuan Yew of Singapore did shed some tears when Singapore got separated from Malaysia. His tears were meant for the poor suffering citizens of Malaysia & ironically, it was he who on 24 April 1961 proposed to Tunku Abdul Rahman about the formation of Malaysia.

On 9 May1961, Lee sent the final version of the paper on his proposal to Tunku and Abdul Razak in Kuala Lumpur, after doing all the ground work. Malaysia was to comprise of Brunei, Malaya, North Borneo (later named Sabah), Sarawak, and Singapore, all of which had been British colonies, essentially as a whole to counter & combat communist activities & to ensure Malay dominance politically. Brunei dropped out on its own. Malaysia has existed since 1961 comprising of Malaya, Sabah & Sarawak, also known separately as West & East Malaysia.

Unknowingly, it was predicted that the lineage of Malay Prime Minister under the ruling party of UMNO/BN (United Malay National Organisation/Barison National) would begin with Tunku Abdul RAHMAN, the playboy prince from Kedah, who took 11 years to complete his law studies in London, and down the line it invariably ended up with Najib Razak, very much a playboy too, though on the quiet.
Notice from above paragraph, I spelt out RAHMAN in capital letters. Significantly, there have been just 6 (six) Malay Prime Ministers since the inception of Malaysia. Take a look at this below:
R stands for RAHMANUnknown

A stands for ABDUL RazakAR

H stands for HUSSEIN Onn Hussein Onn

M stands for MAHATHIRMahathir

A stands for ABDUL BadawiAbdul BNadawi

N stands for NAJIB RazakimagesSo you can see that Najib is fated to be the last of the Malay PMs from UMNO/BN. He’s the be all and end all of the Malay lineage. It’s just a question of time as his fate has been predetermined. Get out soon before more harm is done.

Making Mockery Of Marriage

(With due respect to all readers, this article is written strictly without prejudice or discrimination. Only for information.)

God created Adam & Eve & life in the Garden of Eden was simple & beautiful. But the wilful satan serpent tempted Eve to disobey God with the forbidden fruit & the rest is history.

The world today is topsy turvy as the devil relentlessly goes about setting everything upside down creating upheavals, changes & chaos. Changes are dynamic & never cease to astound human kind. Life has never been the the same. It’s for the worse rather than better. There’s no telling what lies ahead tomorrow. It’s a crazy crazy world we live in!

Forget not the biblical times destruction of Sodom & Gomorrah!

See if you can understand or make any sense out of this modern phenomenon:

LGBT or GLBT is an initialism that stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender. In use since the 1990s, the term is an adaptation of the initialism LGB, which itself started replacing the term gay when in reference to the LGBT community beginning in the mid-to-late 1980s,[1] as many felt the term gay community did not accurately represent all those to whom it referred. The initialism has become mainstream as a self-designation and has been adopted by the majority of sexuality and gender identity-based community centers and media in the United States and some other English-speaking countries.

The phrase is also used in some other countries, in whose languages the initialism is meaningful, such as Argentina, France and Turkey.

The initialism LGBT is intended to emphasize a diversity of sexuality and gender identity-based cultures and is sometimes used to refer to anyone who is non-heterosexual or non-cisgender instead of exclusively to people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender.[2][5] To recognise this inclusion, a popular variant adds the letter Q for those who identify as queer or are questioning their sexual identity as LGBTQ, recorded since 1996. Some intersex people who want to be included in LGBT groups suggest an extended initialism LGBTI,[7][8] and this initialism is used in all parts of “The Activist’s Guide” of the Yogyakarta Principles in Action. Some people combine the two acronyms and use the term LGBTIQ.

Whether or not LGBT people openly identify themselves may depend on whether they live in a discriminatory environment, as well as on the status of LGBT rights where they live.

Now in a lighter vein, enjoy the humourous situations in these three episodes:
Good morning. We want to apply for a marriage license.”
“Names?”, said the clerk.
“Tim and Jim Jones.”
“Jones?? Are you related?? I see a resemblance.”
“Yes, we’re brothers.”
“Brothers?? You can’t get married.”
“Why not?? Aren’t you giving marriage licenses to same gender couples?”
“Yes, thousands. But we haven’t had any siblings. That’s incest!”
“Incest?” No, we are not gay.”
“Not gay?? Then why do you want to get married?”
“For the financial benefits, of course. And we do love each other. Besides, we don’t have any other prospects.”
“But we’re issuing marriage licenses to gay and lesbian couples who’ve claim they’d been denied equal protection under law.
“Wait a minute. A gay man has the same right to marry a woman as I have.
But just because I’m straight doesn’t mean I want to marry a woman. I want to marry Jim.”
“And I want to marry Tim, Are you going to discriminate against us just because we are not gay?”
“All right, all right. I’ll give you your license. Next.”
“Hi. We are here to get married.”
“Names?”
“John Smith, Jane James, Robert Green, and June Johnson.”
“Who wants to marry whom?”
“We all want to marry each other.”
“But there are four of you!”
“That’s right. You see, we’re all bisexual. I love Jane and Robert, Jane loves me and June, June loves Robert and Jane, and Robert loves June and me. All of us getting married together is the only way that we can express our sexual preferences in a marital relationship.”
“But we’ve only been granting licenses to gay and lesbian couples.”
“So you’re discriminating against bisexuals!”
“No, it’s just that, well, the traditional idea of marriage is that it’s just for couples.”
“Since when are you standing on tradition?”
“Well, I mean, you have to draw the line somewhere.”
“Who says?? There’s no logical reason to limit marriage to couples. The more the better. Besides, we demand our rights! The mayor says the constitution guarantees equal protection under the law. Give us a marriage license!”

“All right, all right. Next.”

“Hello, I’d like a marriage license.”
“In what names?”
“David Anderson.”
“And the other man?”
“That’s all. I want to marry myself.”

“Marry yourself?? What do you mean?”
“Well, my psychiatrist says I have a dual personality, so I want to marry the two together.
> Maybe I can file a joint income-tax return.”

“That does it!? I quit!!? You people are making a mockery of marriage!!”

…Don’t laugh, it’s just a matter of time.

Not Good to Drink . . . Carbonated Soft Drinks

By Paul Chong Saturday 15 August 2015

Unknown Be it pop, soda, lolly water or any other fizzy drink, its popularity & convenience is without doubt. These drinks are kind of additive as with junk foods. Makes no difference whether they are in diet form or otherwise, such drinks are not good to drink. In consuming this sweet fizzy delight, most people generally fail to see light!
It’s found that soda has been linked to diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular diseases. Despite the fact, the average Australian still consumes at least 2 sweet carbonated drinks every day. A recent study from the University Of California, San Francisco found direct links between the consumption of sweetened carbonated beverages and premature cellular aging.

UnknownThe authors of the research, Elissa Epel, Ph.D. and Cindy Leung, Ph.D. decided to test the effects of sugared soda on the aging process. The researchers tested a group of people who consumed 12-20 ounces of soda or more on a daily basis, and measured the length of their telomere (the ends of chromosomes, which protect them from deterioration) and found that when compared to the control group, their telomere were significantly shorter. A short telomere is a good indicator of upcoming disease onset and has been linked to the development of cancer and cellular aging.imagesThe study tested the length of the telomere before and after regular consumption of soft drinks and found that they, indeed, cause significant shortening of the telomere. When put in numbers, the results are even more shocking: Daily consumption of 20 ounces of carbonated drinks was shown to cause 4.6 years of cellular damage, meaning your body ages 4.6 years, only because you drink soda. Furthermore, telomere shortening has been associated with insulin resistance, oxidative damage to the tissues, and inflammation.

The 5,309 participants, all aged between 20-65, came from different backgrounds, lived different lifestyles, and were of various races and ethnicities, with similar results for participants. Furthermore, the research found that it is likely that this kind of cellular damage can occur in children.

RMB: New Choice – The World Reserve Currency

Source: Dr. Steve Sjuggerud/Bloomberg/Raise Flag Report/Sovereign Man

Billboard

This bizarre new billboard is seen outside Bangkok international airport . . . promoting a “New World Currency”.

China is so confident of IMF’s decision it could destroy the U.S. dollar starting October 20th 2015.

China is literally advertising its currency overseas, and it’s making sure that everyone landing at one of the world’s busiest airports sees it. They know that the future belongs to them and they’re flaunting it.

Most people have no idea what this billboard really means. And despite the fact that it’s received almost no attention from the mainstream press, this is a huge new development in the currency markets, and it’s definitely going to affect you, your money, and your retirement.

For the past 20 years, Chief Strategist, Stansberry Research Dr Steve Sjuggerud who received his MBA & Ph.D. in currency in France, covered extraordinary currency situations like the collapse of the Russian ruble in ’98 (and again just recently), the havoc wreaked by the 2013 Argentinian currency crisis, and the collapse of the Japanese yen over the last 3 years.

He believes the currency story behind this billboard will be one of the defining events of his career. It could trigger one of the most profound transfers of wealth in our lifetime.

The billboard was from the Bank of China. It said: “RMB: New Choice; The World Currency”

Given that the Bank of China is more than 70% owned by the government of the People’s Republic of China, this is very significant.

It means that China is literally advertising its currency overseas, and it’s making sure that everyone landing at one of the world’s busiest airports sees it. They know that the future belongs to them and they’re flaunting it.

And it’s true. The renminbi’s importance in global trade and as a reserve currency is increasing exponentially, with renminbi trading hubs popping up all over the world, from Singapore to London to Geneva to Frankfurt to Toronto.

Multinational companies such as McDonald’s are now issuing bonds in renminbi, and even sovereign governments are issuing debt denominated in renminbi, including the UK.

Almost every major global player out there, be it governments or major multinationals, is positioning itself for the renminbi to become the dominant reserve currency.

A lot of people, including the richest man in Asia, are starting to move their money out of the country.

So while the long-term trend is pretty clear – China becoming the dominant economic and financial superpower – the short-term may look incredibly rocky.

Just think about this for a couple of minutes. What if the U.S. Dollar wasn’t the world’s reserve currency? Ponder that … what if …

Empires Rise, they peak, they decline, they collapse, this is the cycle of history.

This historical pattern has formed and is already underway in many parts of the world, including the United States.

Don’t be one of the millions of people who gets their savings, retirement, and investments wiped out.

It’s no secret China wants to make dramatic changes to the international currency system.

Since 2009 they have made currency agreements with more than 20 countries and various regions including Switzerland, Brazil, South Korea, the United Kingdom, the Eurozone, and Russia. All of these deals simplified trading by allowing these nations to makes exchanges in local currencies instead of U.S. Dollars.

And this trend is accelerating…

China has now worked with more than 10,000 financial institutions (up 1,011% from June 2011) to do business in Chinese Yuan.

Stuart Oakley, a Managing Director at Nomura Group recently told CNBC, “Let’s not kid ourselves, [China’s rise to power] is well underway and further down the path than many think.”

And now, an American PhD currency expert named Steve Sjuggerud says we have a very good idea how the Chinese will secure their spot as the true “alternative” to the U.S. Dollar – and it’s all very likely to start Octobers 20th of this year.

On this date, China, with the help of one of the world’s leading international banking agencies, is looking to make an epic move in the world’s currency markets, which will send shock-waves throughout China, America, and the rest of the world.

Dr. Sjuggerud says:
“The truth is, you’re unlikely to see a currency event of this magnitude again in your lifetime. I believe this announcement will trigger one of the most profound transfers of wealth we’ve ever seen… You simply must be prepared, and understand what’s about to happen.”

The SDR (Special Drawing Rights – in IMF) review will be conducted in November instead of October and 70 percent of votes are likely required to approve the yuan’s inclusion, an IMF official said Thursday in Washington.

“The renminbi has the basic qualification to be a freely used currency,” said Liu Li-gang, Australia & New Zealand Banking Group Ltd. chief China economist in Hong Kong. “The West could gain more from the renminbi’s inclusion into the SDR as this policy action will help accelerate China’s capital-account liberalization and domestic financial reform.”

Global yuan adoption is on the rise as China gradually opens up its domestic capital market to foreign investors and expands a network of lenders that clears trades in the unit. The yuan, officially called renminbi, overtook the euro in 2013 as the world’s second-most used in trade finance and was the fifth most-popular for global payments in May, according to the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunications.

We expect that the IMF will finally accept renminbi as the renminbi has been widely used as a settlement currency for both trade and foreign direct investment,” said Le Xia, a Hong Kong-based economist at Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria SA.

RMB is your FUTURE!
