Before the return of Hong Kong to its motherland China in 1997, its GDP constituted 27% that of China. Today, that GDP has diminished to a mere 3%. It goes without saying that Hong Kong needs China to grow & progress more than it used to be. Shenzhen, across the border of Hong Kong, a mere fishing village 40 years ago, is now bigger than Hong Kong.
China has designed Hong Kong to be one great metropolitan in the participation of the greater development of the Great Bay Area (Pearl River Delta Region) together with the other Guangdong metropolis as Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen, Huizhou and Zhaoqing, and the SARs of Hong Kong and Macau, thereby forming one great megalopolis like in the north consisting of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei which is to be known as Jing-Jin-Ji. In evidence, the mighty cross-sea bridge linking Hong Kong/Zhuhai/Macau has been completed & opened to traffic. As it is, Hong Kong is now linked to Beijing by high Speed rail directly. The fact is China can do more for Hong Kong than what Hong Kong can do for China. The role has been reversed & China is the future of Hong Kong.
No name has yet been suggested to this southern great megalopolis. All the conglomerate cities will be linked by high speed rail, flyways & highways . . . the ease, convenience & speed of connectivity will be the keynote of China’s development. Everywhere within the great megalopolis will take no more than 45 minutes to commute. In terms of productivity, it will be second to none. Hong Kong’s future will shine bright as one great financial & service centre.
Hong Kong’s fate & destiny rest squarely on its youthful shoulders. For the past 150 years under the British colonial master, as with other colonies elsewhere in the world, Hong Kong has largely been a “drainage” port for the illegitimate mother England . . . for Hong Kong was stolen from China by unfair means of humiliation, intimidation & wholly illicit opium war. The kind of past development that Hong Kong enjoyed benefitted the landed tycoons whose exploitation of the poor majority bred the present economic woes particularly in the area of affordable housing & job opportunities.
All Hong Kong residents must remember this . . . you are all Chinese. Hong Kong has always belonged to China. You are all good hardworking Chinese as in mainland motherland. Don’t throw sand into your rice bowls . . . worst still is to allow others to add injury to insult & mislead your young mind.
You are directing your frustrations & misspent energy in the wrong path & at the wrong people. You are no doubt orchestrated & funded by interfering hands. Under the guise of democracy, rightly known as “demon-crazy”, the US & the foxy British are misleading you down “the river of no return.” They have their obvious secret agenda. Together with the likes of Jimmy Lai born Lai Chee-Ying (the billionaire fugitive), Guo Wengui aka Miles Kwok a Chinese billionaire businessman (now also a fugitive in US), who together with his counterpart Steve Bannon, a former White House Strategist, all are funding & fuelling the Hong Kong protests, riots & violence of an unprecedented height. Other named culprits are Martin Lee (Lee Chu-Ming), Hong Kong’s former pro-democracy veteran, Anson Chan, former chief secretary of Hong Kong & Emily Lau all play their “black” hands.
Most of the protestors & rioters are in their teens . . . all being led by the above mentioned “pipe pipers” onto fear, hatred & violence never known before. Often people don’t appreciate what they’ve got until they lose it. Don’t let the West demonize the experimental system of One Country Two Systems. China is standing by patiently. Just don’t spite your rightful mother mainland. Carrie Lam, your Chief Administrative Executive & her Legislative Council have your interests at heart. Hong Kong will have its greater days ahead & could very well spearhead the greater development & progress of the Great Bay Region. Do you want to have Hong Kong as a criminal refugees’ centre or have it as a clean vibrant economic centre? The choice is yours. I can’t imagine the adult population of over 7 million to follow & be led by the young & immature Hong Kong teens such as Joshua Wong, a mere 17 year-old student then during the failed 2014 Umbrella Movement, who was imprisoned & now freed but still very much a black in the present upheaval.
Peace & harmony, stability & security are pre-requisites to the growth, progress & development of any nation. This the basis that China is spreading its goodwill & sharing its prosperity globally via its Belt & Road Initiative. China does not go around destabilising other nations, advocating regime change with the political overtones attached. War & violence achieve nothing, only suffering & misery.
The are organisations within & without the country established by devious, envious & greedy foreign powers to subvert weaker nations to succumb to their ways. The American have always threaten others “If you are not with us, then you are against us.”
The National Endowment for Democracy (NED), a U.S. non-profit soft power organization that was founded in 1983 with the stated goal of promoting democracy abroad. It is funded primarily through an annual allocation from the U.S. Its meddling black hands have been all over the place in the world . . . Ukraine, Venezuela, Syria . . . now Hong Kong. Suffice to name a few. The list is long & unbelievable.
Hong Kong, please grow up & wake up from your long colonial slumber. Surely you are not going backwards & “kow-tow” to your old colonial master or the declining US. It is laughable no mention of democracy has ever been proposed by the British colonial master over its reign of one & a half century.
China with its long & continuous unbroken civilisation of over 5,000 years is now standing tall & strong. Never again will the West put up such prohibiting notices as “Dogs & Chinese are not allowed in this premise.” President Xi JinPing in announcing in his first term of office that China would give residence & protection rights to all Chinese the world over has rendered the true meaning & pride of being Chinese. Therefore, since our ancestors’ roots lie in China, it’s senseless that anyone should claim himself/herself not being Chinese.
